Within the RCE Network, outstanding projects in education for sustainable development (ESD) are officially recognized via the RCE Recognition Award. The Award was initiated at the 7th Global RCE Conference in 2012 and, since then, 84 projects have been submitted with over 50 of them receiving the Award by the UNU-IAS. The documentation of these outstanding projects has resulted in increased visibility of individual RCs and highlights the important work they do in addressing local sustainability challenges via multi-stakeholder partnerships.
